Yes, Another book review. But this time it is part of a colab with someone from the Blogverse. But they will remain a mystery until their post comes out.
They Suggested that I read this book and I gave them a suggestion. So here is my take on the story.
The book has beautiful cover art:
It perfectly shows how the main characters would bicycle everywhere. The bottom is mysterious and stunningly scary at the same time.
As some of you might remember, I am taking a Spanish language class. This book was perfect for reading since it is mostly in English but There was about 7% of it written in Spanish. And I could understand it! I loved know what the characters were saying when they spoke it.
The Plot: Charlie Hernández is a boy who is in foster care since his parents mysteriously disappeared. Then one day he grows feathers. He starts acting strange and trying to hide them, (who wouldn’t?) and his secret crush, Violet takes an interest in him. She loves uncovering secrets. Together they try to find out why things are happening to him. The story is laced with Spanish folklore and myths.
I happen to love anything to do with ancient history and myths of civilizations. So this was one thing I loved about the book. It was a real page turner and I could not put it down. It was a little beneath my reading level, but my reading level has always been higher than normal. It was a lot of fun to sit down with an easy read like this still filled with action and a great plot. Thank you for recommending this book to me.
There are two more books in the series:
I look forward to reading these as well.
I give this book a 4 out of five. ⭐⭐⭐⭐Great story, plot, characters, and just the right amount of scariness and mystery.
Bye till next post!
