Science: Grade 6

Ron Paul Curriculum

Lesson 100

Assignment: Nothing.

But since it is a review lesson I wanted to write an essay. I thought this easy guide to homemade candle making was neat!

So without further ado:

Homemade Candle Making!

Step 1. Get the container you want your candle to be in, ready.

Step 2. Get some coconut oil and beeswax ready.

Step 3. Get a wick ready.

Step 4. Get a pot, and scale or measuring cup ready.

Step 5. Fill your container up with beeswax.

Step 6. Weigh or measure your beeswax.

Step 7. The formula is 2 parts beeswax, to 1 part coconut oil. So take whatever you measure or weigh and determine what half of it is. Then measure or weigh out that much coconut oil.

Step 8. Melt the beeswax and coconut oil together in the pot on the stove. Here is your chance to add any fragrances you want your candle/candles to smell like.

Step 9. Put your wick in your container making sure it will stay fixed to the bottom of the container while you pour in the wax/oil mixture.

Step 10. Use a pencil or stick to wrap the top of your wick around. This will keep the wick strait while you wait for the candle to dry.

Step 11. Pour in the wax/ oil mixture and wait for it to dry.

WahLah!

You have a homemade candle!

I hope you enjoyed this essay.

Here and Here are some other articles on how to make homemade candles!

Please let me know of errors or mistakes!

The story of Corrie is a strange and fantastic tale told over many generations. It mostly consists of Scripture, books, friends, and fun. But, it has been known to include crochet, cooking, baking, drawing, and organization. Corrie, is a strange beast and likes to dwell in shadows observing life and reading mysteries. She plays with animals and has a few close friends. Jesus Christ died for her sins and she will willingly talk to anyone about the Scriptures. If you wish to seek her friendship you must be honest, friendly, true, faithful, charitable, compassionate, and kind. No ordinary person can win the trust of the Corrie. Explore a little bit of her mind on her blogs, she enjoys getting comments on her posts. It means a lot to her. It means that someone took the time to pay attention and read her post and that is an awesome thing! And remember, tread carefully, for Corrie is always watching.
