Thank you to A Book Owl’s Corner!
She is the first person to actually tag me! Plus! The tag is about books!
Here is her post! https://abookowlscorner.com/2021/05/14/never-have-i-ever-book-tag/
I am answering the same questions as her!
So stay with me!
Question 1: Never have I ever… read a later book in a series before reading the first book.
Ohhh where do I start!
Maybe you don’t know this but my favorite books are the Warriors Series written by Erin Hunter!
Here is a link to the website! https://warriorcats.com/ I have taken the test and I am proud to say that I am a Thunder-clan/Shadow-clan mix! What are you? If you take the test please tell me.
Ok, back to the tag……….
Speaking of Warriors I did not read them until about a year and a half ago. I actually read the Survivor series first and I read those out of order so much! LOL I am really sad.
I read the 4th book in the second series before I read any other ones. I actually would have NEVER read them if it was not for my Grandma! She saw it and was like: “oh check that one out Corrie! it has dogs on it! (She loves animals) I was all like: “ok.. I will try it.”
Are you reading this Grandma? Do you remember this? That day at Dowling Park?
I read it and then I read the other books in the series. I read all the ones that were released and then I read the first series. I actually read the series intermixedly. I read a couple from the first series, then I read a few from the first series.
I have this talent for reading different books at the same time and them being able to remember all the different stories and plots! Strange huh?
After I finished the Survivors Series. I noticed that there was this one book that was by the same Author! This is the book:
I will forever remember this name!: Sunrise
As I read it I was transported into the world of warrior cats! I have to admit that the book was the 6th. The last of the third series. I read it before the other 5 and now I am sorry I did. I was spoiling the entire story because there are some SERIOUS! Spoilers!
I mean biggggg! so when I read the series the End did not have that gigantic SHOCK! I am sure the authors planned on for the readers. It was ok though, because as I read the other 5 books it talked about the spoilers and I could enjoy the knowlage of understanding the mystery while the characters did not.
After that series I read the first, second, third (again), the fourth, fifth, sith, ect..
Sorry for drowning on and on. I loove books and could talk for hours on the subject!
Question 2: Never have I ever… burned a book.
NEVER! HOW COULD YOU ASK SUCH A THING!???!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Question 3: Never have I ever… read a book I knew I would hate.
I have not, I think. I read Gone With the Wind. I knew I would not like it very much.
Because it is a classic!
It was better than I thought it would be. Here is my review: https://miraculushomeschool.wordpress.com/2021/04/29/gone-with-the-wind/
Question 4: Never have I ever… written a fan fiction about my favorite books.
I have not. Though, I have imagined some.
Question 5: Never have I ever… loved a book when I was young, yet hated it when I got older.
I think I have not. I still love to go get a pile of books from my childhood and read them for 15 min like I used to.
I used to go get like 15 books and then go to my living room and sit on the floor amidst piles of books and just read. Now I do that with chapter books.
Question 6: Never have I ever… dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters.
No I have not. My family does not really do Halloween. I have pretended to be book characters outside when I played as a kid. (I still am a kid)
Question 7: Never have I ever… hated a book by an author I love.
I do not really hate books. I dislike stuff in books but I do not hate them. I just realize they are not for me. I do not read books based on authors. If I find a book sometimes I will read it before I even realize it is by someone I love.
Can I ever hate a Warriors book???!?!?!?
Question 8: Never have I ever… gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more.
Well, no. I am only 13. I can’t really drive to a bookstore. I get the majority of my books from the library system. If they don’t have the book I want then I suffer in silence. LOL
Or sometimes I will happen to find the book I want in a goodwill or retail shop. Then It is party time! (the party involves me reading the book as soon as possible)
Question 9: Never have I ever… read the ending of a book before reading the beginning.
I am guilty of doing this. Only by accident. A couple of times the book has come open and I read the back. But not on purpose I just saw the words and Had! to read! You know the feeling.
Or if I have read the book before and I like the ending a lot I will read it.
Question 10: Never have I ever… read a book without the dust cover.
I think that means taking the cover off? Well, I never take the covers off books! They might get damaged!
Question 11: Never have I ever… skim read nearly half a book.
I am guilty. Last week I did this with a book I had gotten from the library but it was not the first in the series. So I skimmed it to see if I would like the books. Or just not bother.
Question 12: Never have I ever… pretended to have read a book that I haven’t actually read.
I have not. I am honest about what I read. I have never been in a situation where I felt I was stupid or on the spot. I understand those who do.
Question 13: Never have I ever… seen the movie before reading the book.
I have with lots of movies. Here are some:
Bridge to Terabithia:
The movie almoet stuck word for word to the book. I was happy with that.
All the Disney movies of fairy tales.
The Hobbits. (I have not actually read the book yet)
The Lord of the Rings. (I have not read them either)
I am sure there are others. But I can’t think of any right now.
Question 14: Never have I ever… read a book someone else is reading by peeking in their copy.
I have done this with people I see reading books. LOL
Me: “Is that a book?!?!” 😂😂😂
Question 15: Never have I ever… had to pay library fees for returning a book late.
Yep I have paid. But only 4 dollars and it was not even for books!
I wanted to check out some movies right? Ok so I ask the librarian what is different about movies than books? I was told there was some stuff they change when you pick out movies.
They told me it did not affect anything at all. I could still check out my regular 25 books, but the movies counted as books. So really only 21 books. The only thing about it they said was that I could only check out 4 movies. That was fine with me so my sister and I picked out some barbie movies and some movie that we had wanted to see but had not yet. I don’t remember which one.
Well 3 weeks later we are going to the library to return our checkouts. My library says that you can have the books for 3 weeks. After that you pay like 10 cents for every day you do not bring them back, per book.
So when I get there as I am checking in the movies and books the Librarian says to me “You own 4$ in library fees” I was like “What?!!?!? today is the day to turn in the books! I am not overdue!”
So them they tell me you can only check out books for 3 weeks! Movies can only be checked out for 1 week!
I told the library that they had told me nothing was different about movies. And they told me I did not have to pay since I did not know about it. But I paid anyway. I did not want to have bad blood with the librarians.
Question 16: My additional Prompt: Never have I ever……Gotten a library hold that was not mine.
I have actually.
So you guys know me right? I do noot like romance aand would never read a romance book.
So one day I go into the library and they are all like “Your hold is in.” Nothing new about that right? I always have holds at the library.
So they hand me my “hold” And I don’t exactly remember the name of it but is is something like: Passions of the soul! or The fleshly passions!
I was all like “WHAT?!?!?!?!?” I thought maybe my grandma had checked it out or something. But she only checked out mysteries. We both love a good Mystery.
So I asked her and she was like “WHAT?!?!?!?!?” So we told the librarian that they had the wrong person and they show me that it was checked out for a hold on my account.
Weird right? I think someone logged into my account and checked out the book on hold thinking it was their card. I know it is possible because I accidentally logged into someone else’s account once.
That is all for today!
I nominate, to answer these quetions and come up with one of their own:
